Baseball Recap: Vaux Big Picture Starts off Right with Win over Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech

Vaux Big Picture had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech 18-8. This was payback for Vaux Big Picture, who suffered a 20-9 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Khalil Washington, who scored two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Nysii Smith, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Vaux Big Picture always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .711. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech only posted an OBP of .484.

Coming up, Vaux Big Picture will challenge Overbrook at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech, they will take on Bodine at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech their first taste of in-conference action this season.
