Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Batesburg-Leesville's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Batesburg-Leesville won the last time they faced Fairfield Central and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Panthers put the hurt on the Griffins with a sharp 11-1 win. Considering the Panthers have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Landon Soper made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.

In other pitching news, Carter Bouknight looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Tanner Watkins was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gavin Parrish, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one double.

Batesburg-Leesville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Batesburg-Leesville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5-1 record this season. As for Fairfield Central, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-17.
