Pensacola Catholic was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cottage Hill Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Pensacola Catholic lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sophie Burns, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. Burns has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenecia Swindell, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Pensacola Catholic has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Cottage Hill Christian Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-12.
Pensacola Catholic will be playing in front of their home fans against Destin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Destin is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Cottage Hill Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Flomaton at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Flomaton has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 4.
