The Calvary Baptist Academy Patriots posted their biggest win since December 11, 2023 on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 57-35 margin over Parkersburg Christian. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-8.
Calvary Baptist Academy found their leader in underclassman Jacob Vaughn, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Vaughn has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Dallas Johnson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Despite the loss, Parkersburg Christian still got an impressive performance from Alexander Fluharty, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Fluharty grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Meadows, who scored eight points along with three steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Calvary Baptist Academy and bumps their season record up to 8-9. As for Parkersburg Christian, they have fallen quite a ways from their 17-5 record last season and are now at 4-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calvary Baptist Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tolsia at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Tolsia will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Parkersburg Christian will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against New Life Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on January 27th. New Life Christian Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 244 points over their last three games.
