The Wilde Lake Wildecats's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Atholton Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on December 13th. Atholton took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Wilde Lake, who comes in off a win.
Last Monday, Wilde Lake was fully in charge, breezing past Owings Mills 81-35 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-15.
Meanwhile, Atholton pushed their score all the way to 62 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of River Hill.
Despite the loss, Atholton had strong showings from Camden Thibeault, who scored 19 points along with six steals, and Amir Shaheed, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Appelbaum, who scored no points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Wilde Lake's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Atholton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Wilde Lake strolled past Atholton in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 68-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wilde Lake since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
