The Eaglecrest Raptors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. Their rough 59-34 loss to Arapahoe might stick with them for a while. That's two games in a row now that Eaglecrest has lost by exactly 25 points.
Eaglecrest's loss came despite strong showings from Jada Bobb and Glorielle Mukeba. Bobb almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds, while Mukeba scored four points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Leading Arapahoe to victory were Gianna Smith and Liz Gentry. Smith dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds, while Gentry dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alexa Leduff, who scored four points.
Eaglecrest dropped their record down to 11-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Arapahoe, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eaglecrest's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Wolves at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Grandview presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Raptors in Colorado (the Wolves are ranked ninth, while the Raptors are ranked 49th). As for Arapahoe, they will head out on the road to take on the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Mullen focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday.
