If St. Petersburg wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Newsome, they should've done a better job of containing Sadie Avery. The Newsome Wolves walked away with a 25-12 victory over the St. Petersburg Green Devils on Saturday for which the team can thank Avery, who threw for 258 yards and four touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in rushing yards (28).

Although St. Petersburg took the loss, they still got scores from Mar'Quaysha Curry and Alicia Correa.

Newsome is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. St. Petersburg's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Newsome wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 47-13 win against Gaither on the 13th. As for St. Petersburg, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-6 loss against Osceola on the 13th.
