The Maynard Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the West Boylston Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Max Mandler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. In other batting news, Maynard got a massive performance out of Thomas Lawton, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Lawton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Liam Lawton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
Maynard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ayer Shirley only posted an OBP of .263.
Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for West Boylston, as they earned their first away win of the season. They put the hurt on Murdock with a sharp 17-2 victory on Wednesday.
Maynard's record is now 9-2. As for West Boylston, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 6-4.
Everything went Maynard's way against West Boylston in their previous meeting back in April, as Maynard made off with a 9-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
