Make it 11 blowout wins for the Davenport Broncos this season. They blew past Celebration 62-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Davenport.
Davenport got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sorayah Emilien out in front who scored 26 points along with five steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Emilien has scored at least a third of Davenport's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Kim, who scored 17 points along with three steals and three blocks.
Celebration's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evelyn Juden, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and two steals. Juden hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Valeria Martinez, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Celebration were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Davenport only posted three assists.
Davenport's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Celebration, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.
Davenport will face off against the Bloodhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Auburndale comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Celebration's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Kowboys on February 5th. Osceola is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
