Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Tyngsborough should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They will be defending their home turf for the first time when they go up against Maynard at 7:00 PM. Maynard will be strutting in after a win while Tyngsborough will be stumbling in from a defeat.
After a dominant victory in their contest two weeks ago, Tyngsborough were humbled last Saturday. They fell just short of Northbridge by a score of 21-24.
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out between Maynard and Quabbin Regional. Maynard were fully in charge, breezing past Quabbin Regional 44-0. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 20-0.
Tyngsborough's loss took them down to 1-1 while Maynard's victory pulled them up to 2-0. In Maynard's victory, junior Peter Jordan rushed for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns and sophomore John Sforza rushed for 133 yards and 1 touchdown. We'll see if Tyngsborough have a strategy for dealing with them or if they lead their team to another successful outing.
