After flying high against the Bulloch Academy Gators on Tuesday, the Savannah Country Day Hornets came back down to earth. Savannah Country Day fell to Liberty County 54-49. Savannah Country Day lost against Liberty County in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 42-29 score last time.
Despite the loss, Savannah Country Day still got an impressive performance from Robert Spaulding iv, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 10 rebounds. The match was Spaulding iv's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Savannah Country Day's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Liberty County, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Savannah Country Day will take on Cathedral Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cathedral Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Savannah Country Day in their respective states (Cathedral Academy is ranked 53rd in South Carolina, while Savannah Country Day is ranked 241st in Georgia). As for Liberty County, they will be playing at home against Groves at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
