Franklin Community was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Southport on Saturday. The Grizzly Cubs put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 11-4 victory. The Grizzly Cubs not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 8, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Aubrey Leugers, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Annabelle Richter, who went 3-for-5 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI.
Franklin Community was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southport only posted a batting average of .192.
Meanwhile, Indian Creek got the win against Indianapolis Lutheran on Tuesday by a conclusive 12-2.
Delaney Jones spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 15 Ks. Those 15 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Amelia Woodke was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Day, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Indian Creek's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin Community, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Franklin Community hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Indian Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.5 home runs.
