Section 3 Class D - East recap October 22, 2013
Cooperstown moved up to 553 from 594 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 3 Class D - East. The Hawkeyes were able to move up by beating New York Mills 38-36.
Herkimer added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Sauquoit Valley, 50-2. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Sauquoit Valley's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Indians feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Korey Lewandrowski has thrown for 554 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Ethan Harris has 15 catches for 252 yards.
The Indians lost to Herkimer 50-2 last week, the largest margin of any game. Harris ran for 68 yards in the loss.
