The Washingtonville Wizards are taking a road trip to face off against the Cornwall Central Dragons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
On Wednesday, Washingtonville made easy work of Goshen Central and carried off a 12-4 victory. The Wizards haven't had any issues with the Gladiators recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Brennan Tesseyman and Bryce Tesseyman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Tesseyman tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Meanwhile, Bryce pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Washingtonville is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise. At the plate, Tesseyman went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Bryce got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Washingtonville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Cornwall Central won against Valley Central on Wednesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Dragons' pitchers stepped up to hand Monticello a 12-0 shutout. The contest marked the Dragons' most dominant victory of the season so far.
The win made it two in a row for Cornwall Central and bumps their season record up to 3-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Washingtonville, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Washingtonville was able to grind out a solid victory over Cornwall Central when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 8-5. Do the Wizards have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
