Mitchell has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Sand Creek Scorpions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-29, which was the final score in Mitchell's tilt against the Falcons on Wednesday. Mitchell has not had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Sand Creek can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 43-34 victory over Widefield.
Sand Creek got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Brotherns out in front who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Troy Hill, who scored no points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Mitchell's defeat was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.7 points per game. As for Sand Creek, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-9.
Mitchell was dealt a bruising 91-14 loss at the hands of the Scorpions in their previous meeting back in January. Can Mitchell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
