The Inderkum Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with an 84-76 victory over Bakersfield Christian. Given Inderkum's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Bakersfield Christian is ranked 360th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Taylen Goodman was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Those 29 points set a new season-high mark for he. Another player making a difference was Malachi Johnson, who scored 12 points.
The win (which was Inderkum's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Bakersfield Christian, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Inderkum will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Clovis West at 7:00 p.m. on December 9th. One thing working in Clovis West's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Bakersfield Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against San Joaquin Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on December 9th. San Joaquin Memorial has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 445 points over their last six contests.
