After flying high against the River Mill Jaguars last Tuesday, the Triangle Math & Science Tigers came back down to earth. Triangle Math & Science's tough 61-41 loss to the Knights on Friday might stick with them for a while. Triangle Math & Science has not had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Triangle Math & Science lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Leanna Nohs, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Nohs has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samrita Sriram, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Meah Brooks continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chatham Charter, almost dropping a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. Brooks is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 20 or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Hannah Headen, who scored 23 points.
Triangle Math & Science's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7. As for Chatham Charter, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 18-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Triangle Math & Science will challenge the Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chatham Charter, they will head out on the road to take on the Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clover Garden School is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
