St. Luke's is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest win since May 7, 2024 on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Rye Country Day, sneaking past 7-5. While the Storm didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Cooper Acheychek looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Drew Zoccolillo was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Brennan Fila also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Hopkins hit Hamden Hall Country Day with a five-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hornets fell just short of the Hilltoppers by a score of 8-7.
Amato Civitello put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Hamden Hall Country Day is 6-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-6 otherwise. Civitello was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, Carlos Reyes was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Logan Charboneau was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
St. Luke's has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Hamden Hall Country Day, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 9-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. Luke's has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hamden Hall Country Day struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
St. Luke's suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Hamden Hall Country Day when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Storm avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
