Texhoma extended the longest winning streak in A District 1 this week by beating Okeene, 41-20. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Red Devils.
Fairview took down Beaver 45-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Whippets' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Scott Dobrinski threw for 22 yards and Scott Dobrinski had 22 yards receiving. On the ground Trent Turner chipped in 189 yards. Blake Boeckman helped Okeene's passing attack out by catching one ball for 17 yards.
The Yellowjackets' Grant Nightengale and Michael Christopher have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Nightengale has thrown for 1580 yards this season, while Christopher, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 32 catches for 371 yards. Okeene's Turner leads the league in rushing yards with 971.
Turner of the Jeff Wardlaw's team is only 29 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Hooker takes on Texhoma. The Bulldogs are currently in fourth, while Aaron Witten's team is in first.
Hooker and Oklahoma Bible played the most hotly contested game in A District 1 this week, with Hooker eventually emerging with a 20-14 victory.
