The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors will square off against the Archbishop Murphy Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Edmonds-Woodway hadn't beaten Shorewood on the road since April 29, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The Warriors came out on top against the Stormrays by a score of 5-1. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly four runs.

Ella Campbell made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Abby McCorvey was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Catie Ingalls, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple.
Meanwhile, Archbishop Murphy had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Hawks.
Ari Dixon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carly Madhavan, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Saylah Lopez, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Archbishop Murphy pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Edmonds-Woodway, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Edmonds-Woodway hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .388. However, it's not like Archbishop Murphy struggles in that department as they've averaged .368. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Edmonds-Woodway skirted past Archbishop Murphy 10-9 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
