The Mayde Creek Rams are taking a road trip to take on the Seven Lakes Spartans at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Friday, Mayde Creek needed a bit of extra time to put away Cinco Ranch. They had just enough and edged out the Cougars 12-11. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Shy'Lynn Brown made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over nine innings while giving up just two earned (and nine unearned) runs off nine hits. Brown was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-6 with four RBI and two doubles. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Mayde Creek let Julissa Aquino and Eva Tyler run wild. Aquino scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Tyler scored three runs while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances. What's more, Aquino posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Isabella Longoria also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Mayde Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Seven Lakes, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They skirted past Paetow 4-3. The victory was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Ryma Chakraborty tossed a big game, pitching 7.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.
At the plate, Dulce Franco was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Evie Combs, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Mayde Creek's record now sits at 12-9. As for Seven Lakes, their record is now 6-10.
Seven Lakes' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mayde Creek hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. It's a different story for Seven Lakes, though, as they've only averaged .254. Will they be able to contain Mayde Creek's hitters?
Mayde Creek skirted past Seven Lakes 4-3 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
