After three games on the road, Shipley is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Episcopal Academy Churchmen at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Saturday, Shipley suffered a tough 80-56 defeat at the hands of William Penn Charter.
The losing side was boosted by Gyasi Miller, who scored 17 points. He scored a full 30.4% of Shipley's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Matt Lange was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Episcopal Academy strolled past La Salle College with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 63-48. The win was all the more spectacular given Episcopal Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 304th, while La Salle College is ranked 135th).
Shipley's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Episcopal Academy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Shipley won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, slipping by Episcopal Academy 64-63. Does Shipley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Episcopal Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
