After losing to the Windham Whippets the last time they met, the Waterford Lancers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Waterford snuck past Windham with a 54-49 win on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Waterford.
When it comes to explaining why Windham lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tahj Jones. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points along with six steals. Jones hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Malcolm Hunter, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Waterford pushed their record up to 7-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Windham, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waterford on the road again on Tuesday and play against East Lyme at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Windham, they will challenge New London at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in New London's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matchups.
