Delone Catholic is a perfect 10-0 against Hanover since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Squires will host the Nighthawks at 6:00 p.m. Hanover took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Delone Catholic, who comes in off a win.
On Wednesday, Delone Catholic needed a bit of extra time to put away Fairfield. They skirted past the Knights 11-10. The Squires haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Grace Hewitt made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ivy Nieves, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Teagan Funkhouser, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Delone Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Hanover was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They came up short against Bermudian Springs, falling 19-2.
Hanover saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Rutledge, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Rutledge is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Hanover has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Delone Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
Delone Catholic took their victory against Hanover when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Will the Squires repeat their success, or do the Nighthawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
