Basketball Recap: Vance County Piles Up the Points Against South Granville

Vance County won the last time they faced South Granville and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Vance County Vipers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the South Granville Vikings 69-35. The Vipers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Vance County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nicola Thompson, who posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Queenie Whittler, who put up 13 points.

Despite the loss, South Granville still got an impressive performance from Amya Cheek, who earned 14 points. The dominant performance gave Cheek a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Alayah Flowers, who had eight points.

The win made it two in a row for Vance County and bumps their season record up to 13-4. As for South Granville, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing J.F. Webb the next time they take the court. Vance County will head out to face J.F. Webb at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while South Granville will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
