The Brackett Tigers were the 72-54 winner over the Sabinal Yellowjackets when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Brackett was outmatched by Sabinal on the road and fell 79-33. Brackett has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sabinal got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ricardo Perez out in front who scored 27 points along with three steals. The game was Perez's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Andres Reyes was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Brackett's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-7. As for Sabinal, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season.
Brackett will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against La Pryor at 1:30 p.m. La Pryor is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Sabinal, they will head out on the road to face off against Falls City at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
