Grants' pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Thoreau with a sharp 15-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won eight in a row.
Olivia Toivanen made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Toivanen was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other pitching news, Melory Largo looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Grants got a massive performance out of Raeyna Valdez, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Valdez is also on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Delilah Martinez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.
Grants was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .588. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Valencia's offense. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (15-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Valencia's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Grants, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Valencia's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Grants has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Valencia, though, as they've been averaging only 2.1 strikeouts. Will Grants keep running through batters, or will the Jaguars buck the trend?
