Ankeny came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Southeast Polk Rams by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-3. This was a revenge game for the Hawks: when they faced off against the Rams back in June, they had to take a 8-0 loss.

Ankeny's victory bumped their record up to 12-19. As for Southeast Polk, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-15 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ankeny will head out to face off against Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolves' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Hawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Southeast Polk, they will venture away from home to square off against Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rams 3.6, the Tigers 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
