The Carroll County Panthers will head out on the road to  face off against  the Walton-Verona Bearcats at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
 Carroll County is probably headed into the  matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Anderson County just ended the team's  three-game winning streak  on Monday. They took  a  5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bearcats. Carroll County has not had much luck with Anderson County recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
  Coy Willhoite was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring a  run while going 3-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Walton-Verona stacked  a  13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Lloyd Memorial  an   11-0 shutout.
  Mason Howard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only two  hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Howard has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive pitching appearances. Howard was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-2 with three  RBI and a  double.
 In other batting news,  Sawyer Webster was  incredible,  going 2-for-2 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and a  triple. Another player making a difference was  Julian Dixon, who  went 1-for-2 with a  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Carroll County's loss  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 18-10. As for Walton-Verona, they pushed their record up to 19-9 with that  win, which was their 13th straight  at home.
 Carroll County suffered a grim  10-1 defeat to Walton-Verona  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2023. Can Carroll County avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
