The Miamisburg Vikings posted their biggest victory since November 22, 2023 on Monday. They blew past Troy 56-24 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-12.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Troy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Miamisburg's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-9. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Troy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miamisburg will face off against Fairmont at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fairmont presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Miamisburg in Ohio (Fairmont is ranked 94th, while Miamisburg is ranked 268th). As for Troy, they will head out on the road to challenge Butler at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Butler's defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so Troy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
