The Doddridge County Bulldogs put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 51-29 margin over Clay-Battelle. Doddridge County might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four games by 22 points or more this season.
Tenley Paugh was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds. The match was her third in a row with at least ten points. Akaia Williams was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Doddridge County pushed their record up to 8-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Clay-Battelle, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Doddridge County will finish 2023 at home by hosting Notre Dame at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Clay-Battelle will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tyler at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
