This season hasn't been kind to The Salisbury Township Falcons, who are still winless after their tenth contest. They were the victim of a tough 35-14 defeat at the hands of Catasauqua on Friday. Salisbury Township was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.
Despite the loss, Salisbury Township still got an impressive performance from Jason St Leger, who rushed for 132 yards on only nine carries. St Leger was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 64 yards.
Catasauqua got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hunter Reitz out in front who rushed for 108 yards and three touchdowns. Rodney Brodie was another key contributor, picking up 107 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Salisbury Township's defeat was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.0 points per game. As for Catasauqua, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Salisbury Township will be playing in front of their home fans against Shenandoah Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Shenandoah Valley is ranked 509th, while Salisbury Township is ranked 533rd). Catasauqua will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Williams Valley at 7:00 p.m. on November 4th. Williams Valley is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
