The Legacy Early College Lions waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins but they left with five. They came out on top against Victory Christian Center by a score of 65-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Victory Christian Center saw an underclassman step up: Justyn Whitfield scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Whitfield has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Myles Smith, who scored ten points.
Legacy Early College pushed their record up to 12-6 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Victory Christian Center, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-8.
Legacy Early College will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Brewster Academy National at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Victory Christian Center does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
