Basketball Recap: Conestoga Piles Up the Points Against Weeping Water

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Conestoga). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 64-37 win over the Weeping Water Indians. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Cougars have posted since February 20th.

When it comes to explaining why Weeping Water lost, don't look at Gus McGill. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 11 on his way to 20 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. McGill is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerderick Brito-Diaz, who posted five points.

Conestoga picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Weeping Water, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Conestoga wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-42 victory against Raymond Central on the 28th. As for Weeping Water, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-35 win against Falls City on the 28th.
