It was a good run, but the South Lake Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Legacy Charter by a score of 67-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (58), South Lake still had to take the loss.
South Lake's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David PINA, who scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. kevens charles was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Even though they lost, South Lake were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Legacy Charter only pulled down a.
Legacy Charter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kyle James out in front who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Emanuel Longchamp, who scored 12 points along with 4 steals.
South Lake bumped their record down to 3-2 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Legacy Charter, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
South Lake will head out on the road to face off against East Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Ridge is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Legacy Charter, they will be playing at home against Central Florida Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Central Florida Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five last Friday.
