The North Hagerstown Hubs will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Martinsburg Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in North Hagerstown's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups.
Even though North Hagerstown has not done well against Oakdale recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. North Hagerstown walked away with a 71-58 victory over Oakdale. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
North Hagerstown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nas Keyes led the charge by scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Keyes is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Somerville, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Martinsburg was fully in charge on Monday, breezing past GVCS Broadfording 95-41 on the road. The win made it back-to-back wins for Martinsburg.
North Hagerstown's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Martinsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
