After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Heartland, the Clinton Christian Academy Patriots were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They skirted past Center Place 42-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Clinton Christian Academy has posted since November 21, 2023.
Clinton Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Clara Hyke, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. Hyke is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games she's played. Carissa Compton was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Center Place lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rylie Kroesen. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points along with two steals and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Caylyn Schrunk, who scored two points along with 14 rebounds.
Clinton Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Center Place, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.
The two teams will face off at 4:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Center Place focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday. Their road trip will continue as they head out to face Clinton Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on February 5th. Clinton Christian Academy and the are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
