The Fossil Ridge SaberCats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Prairie View 75-40 at home. Fossil Ridge has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fossil Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eli Nutting, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Walker Shields, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Prairie View's loss came despite strong showings from Javon Brewton and Eric Allee. Brewton scored 13 points, while Allee scored eight points. Brewton's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight.
Prairie View struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Fossil Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Prairie View, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fossil Ridge will challenge Fairview at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Fairview will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Fossil Ridge is ranked 26th). As for Prairie View, they will head out on the road to challenge Mountain Range at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
