Basketball Recap: Pinewood Prep Piles Up the Points Against Northwood Academy

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Pinewood Prep on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Northwood Academy Chargers out of the water with an 88-59 final score. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 22 points or more this season.

Arden Murray went supernova for Pinewood Prep, going 10-for-17 on his way to 30 points and seven rebounds. Those 30 points gave Murray a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Asa Windham, who posted 14 points along with eight boards and five assists.

Pinewood Prep was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. They racked up nine more assists than Northwood Academy's also-impressive total of 17.

Northwood Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Elyjah Oler, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 15 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Antwaun Henderson Jr., who had seven points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Pinewood Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.4 points over those games. As for Northwood Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-22.

Pinewood Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-38 victory against First Baptist School on the 15th. Northwood Academy has also already played their next match (against Hammond), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
