The Lockport Lions had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They snuck past Williamsville North with a 28-24 win. This was payback for Lockport, who suffered a 59-43 loss the last time these two teams met.
Lockport's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tray Thompson, who rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 45 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Shey Williams, who gained 82 total yards and a touchdown.
Lockport's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Williamsville North, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-4.
Lockport will be playing at home against Grand Island at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Williamsville North is on the road again on Friday and play against Starpoint at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th.
