The Leroy Bears's four-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Thursday. They blew past Millry 67-32 on the road. With that victory, Leroy brought their scoring average up to 51.3 points per game.
Leroy had a senior duo take command as Taylor Crumedy dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds and Ray Phillips scored 18 points along with six steals and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Phillips has scored at least 25% of Leroy's points. Malik Howell was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Leroy's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Millry, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Leroy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Washington County at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th. Washington County is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Millry will be home for the holidays to greet Excel at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
