Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oakleaf). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-11 victory over the Knoxville Catholic Fighting Irish on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

The team relied heavily on Jeter Farina, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Luis Mendoza was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

The win got Oakleaf back to even at 8-8. As for Knoxville Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Oakleaf and Knoxville Catholic could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in their respective state rankings.
