Luke Smith Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Starting off the list is Cherokee's Luke Smith, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Smith picked up a sack and made five total tackles, good enough to also set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making five total tackles.
Cherokee pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Smith and Cherokee will play host again on Friday to welcome Swain County, where kickoff is scheduled at 7:30 p.m.

Cameron Clem and Co. Win Seventh in a Row
Cameron Clem was instrumental in extending Murphy's winning streak to seven on Friday. Clem was dynamite, rushing for 67 yards and a touchdown.
On the season, Clem has run in 12 touchdowns while averaging 91.8 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had five rushing touchdowns.

The second Cherokee player making an appearance here is Emiliano Garcia, and for good reason. He rushed for 12 yards.

Tre Graves Makes Top Five
Rounding off our Top Five is Tre Graves of Hayesville. Graves rushed for 77 yards.
Graves and Hayesville will be playing at home against Robbinsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets had to take a loss when they last met the Black Knights, but Graves had little to do with the loss: he rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown. Can he match (or beat) that performance?
