East Greenwich made easy work of Coventry on Friday and carried off a 35-6 victory. The success made it back-to-back wins for East Greenwich.
East Greenwich's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 21 points in the first half. Meanwhile, Coventry couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 21-0 heading into the break. The East Greenwich defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the game.
No one put up better numbers for East Greenwich than junior Conrad Swanson, who brought his A game into the match. He accumulated 278 passing yards and picked up 37 yards on the ground. Senior Kevin Licciardi was in the mix, too, providing East Greenwich with 2 touchdowns. The win bumped their record up to 2-0. The defeat started Coventry out at 0-1 for the season.
East Greenwich are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Middletown next week at 7:00 PM. Coventry will look to defend their home turf against Westerly at 6:00 PM.
