Volleyball Recap: Jordan Jenson and Kolu Afualo Secure Win for Desert Hills

If Snow Canyon wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Desert Hills, they should've done a better job of containing Kai James. The Thunder walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Warriors on Thursday for which the team can thank James, who had 23 digs and two aces. He is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 18 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

While Desert Hills might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Snow Canyon scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 20-25, 25-22, 26-24.

Leading Desert Hills to victory were Kolu Afualo and Jordan Jenson. Afualo had 14 assists and five digs, while Jenson had 11 kills, six digs, two aces, and one block. What's more, Jenson also posted a 31.8% hitting percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since April 1st.

Desert Hills is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Snow Canyon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-11.

Desert Hills wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Cedar on the 29th. As for Snow Canyon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Pine View on the 29th.
