Baker has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Mansueto Leopards at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, Baker was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 43-38 to Muchin College Prep. That's two games in a row now that Baker has lost by exactly five points.
Despite their loss, Baker saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Serenity Curry, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The match was Curry's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Destiny Davis, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Mansueto was able to grind out a solid victory over Noble Street College Prep on Thursday, taking the game 20-10. That looming 20-10 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Mansueto yet this season.
Baker now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Mansueto, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
