The team relied heavily on Grant Schwab, who went 3-for-5 with one home run and six RBI. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mack Hieber, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Delta and Otsego meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Panthers blew past the Knights 11-1. Considering the Panthers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Jadon Lohman was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those runs were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jack Tedrick, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Delta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Otsego only managed four.
Patrick Henry's win bumped their record up to 9-3-1. As for Delta, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Patrick Henry got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 against Delta by a conclusive 14-2 score. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
