Boron led Desert Mountain in scoring this week after putting up 68 points on Desert Christian. Austyn Fink threw for 248 yards and four touchdowns and ran for eight yards in the win.
Vasquez made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 13,558 from 13,729. The advance stemmed from a 43-12 victory over Riverside Prep last week.
Jadrian Wiser was the best wideout in the league this week as the Bobcats bested the Knights. Wiser racked up five receptions for 128 yards. Drake Job helped Boron's passing attack out by catching three balls for 54 yards.
David Miller was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 120 yards on six carries as the Mustangs beat Desert Christian. Orern Dye also contributed to the rushing game with 87 yards on the ground.
Todd Fink's team's Fink and Wiser have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Desert Mountain in both passing and receiving yards. Fink has thrown for 1813 yards this season, while Wiser, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 35 catches for 658 yards. Mammoth's Tyler Wormhoudt leads the league in rushing yards with 686.
Entering into this week's contest against the Silver Knights, Fink is short just 187 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Boron takes on Riverside Prep. At the moment, the Bobcats are in first, while Greg Bailey's team is in fourth.
