The East Robertson Indians had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their matchup on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-20 win over Smith County. The win was familiar territory for East Robertson who now have seven in a row.
Isaiah Groves continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 254 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per carry, and also picking up 84 receiving yards and a touchdown. Groves' longest reception was for an incredible 84 yards. Elijah Groves made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
East Robertson pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 22.64 points. As for Smith County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3.
East Robertson will head out on the road to face off against York Institute at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. York Institute is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Smith County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
