The Bradshaw Mountain Bears will square off against the Paradise Honors Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bradshaw Mountain has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Paradise Honors will arrive with 12 straight victories.
Bradshaw Mountain came up short against Coconino on Thursday, falling 17-1.
Bradshaw Mountain saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayda Fringer, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Paradise Honors got the win against Goldwater on Thursday by a conclusive 15-5. Considering the Panthers have won 11 contests by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Charlotte Glenn was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Paradise Honors let Ashlyn Elliott and Gabrielle Marquez run wild. Elliott went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Marquez went 1-for-2 with three runs and one double. Those three runs gave Marquez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Parker Holt, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Paradise Honors was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Paradise Honors' win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bradshaw Mountain, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Paradise Honors' pitching crew better be locked in on Friday. Bradshaw Mountain hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. It's a different story for Paradise Honors, though, as they've been averaging only 0 home runs. Will they be able to keep Bradshaw Mountain in the park?
Bradshaw Mountain couldn't quite finish off Paradise Honors in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
